Chris Hambly MA ODE (Open) is an educational technologist, and web development consultant, who chooses to work with dynamic clients helping them to unlock potential.
As well as being a distance learning pioneer (he founded the first ever online learning portal of its kind, and saw it through a merger), Chris has considerable face-to-face academic and professional experience in both the further and higher education sector having taught A Levels through to leading BSc and BA degree authoring and management for a number of UK universities as well as external examining and consulting for oversees technology related degrees in the Asia Pacific region.
With over 10 years of delivering online education Chris is a skilled moderator of web communities, conversation, experienced Chair on countless academic boards, and has racked-up numerous commercial web development experiences with household brand names such as The Coca Cola Company.
Chris has significant experience in leading and managing virtual learning communities where he excels at defining systems and processes which enable greater efficiency of resources, both human and material.
He is a keen musician, critical thinker, and has been working as an Internet professional since 1994, having been a recording studio/PA engineer and a Royal Navy aircraft communications technician previously.
He is studying for his PhD in Educational Technology and social communications and is prolific in the social media space, through founding and leading the Social Media Mafia which runs regular new-media unconferences and educational events, in many countries, with the mission of facilitating critical thinking amiably.
